I spend nearly every evening and most weekends in my yard and it’s my sanctuary. Tons of birds squirrels lizards and other critters and I’m always in awe of all of it. And Im now using the Merlin app…so thank u for that 😜 I’m often out there until it’s dark and love to be out there before the sun rises. Nature is definitely my happy place 💚

Beautiful. For some reason, I've always connected with Nature and animals better than other people. I don't know if that's a blessing or a curse...maybe both.

I love the times I can find the stillness to hear the birds that surround us, and it truly is the best alarm clock* especially when coupled with the gentle warming of the sky.

But sunrises and sunsets are my favorite parts of the day for their beauty and their variability. They remind me of the cyclical patterns of my life and the interplay of change and consistency.

I always feel a little void in my life any day when I miss both.

* except during the summer in London where they feel that 4 AM is a perfectly acceptable time to set the alarm. 🤣

And so many people don’t know how many birds only show up at sunset!

Great thoughts for a Friday, thank you!

The best sounds to immerse myself during meditation are bird sounds. From their calls, to the sound of their wings, to the little rustling as they move about. They are a part of nature that successfully intrudes back into man's non-natural world. Meditating to their sounds has always seemed to be better than other background noises, thank you for helping clarify why that is.

The best soundtrack! My morning alarm is birdsongs.

They are my alarm clock, starting each day just before dawn. They also are my self care accountability partner. A day that starts after song at first light is a reminder to slow down.
